Whitsundays experiences to compare before you book
Whitsunday Coast Airport is near Proserpine, not in the centre of Airlie Beach. The airport lists several transfer operators, so pre-booking is usually the simplest arrival plan.
As a current example, Airlie Beach Airport Shuttle Bus listed one adult at A$26 one way or A$41 return when checked. The operator notes that prices are a guide and can change with time, date, location, passenger numbers and booking conditions, so confirm the final fare before paying.
Once you are on the coast, local public transport can be exceptionally cheap. Translink’s current Queensland flat fare is 50 cents per trip across its network, including regional urban buses. Check what your tour already includes. A cruise with lunch, snacks or drinks may look dearer than a basic fare but can reduce what you spend that day. Equally, do not assume every boat ticket is all-inclusive. Drinks, photos, transfers, special activities or equipment can be extra.
Self-contained accommodation is most valuable when you will actually use the kitchen. If you know you will eat every meal out, choose a room for location and comfort rather than paying more for facilities that will sit unused.
