  • We absolutely loved this trip. Max, our guide, was phenomenal. He was full of energy, very enthusiastic, great sense of humour and made sure we all had an enjoyable time. He was also very knowledgeable about the area, sharing lots of stories and facts about our journey and the places we were visiting too. The trip is very well organised. Max picked us up from our hotel and explained the itinerary of the day and kept us updated throughout our trip. Thank you Max – you were amazing, made our day 100x better than we ever thought it could be! Definitely recommend if you are visiting Sydney!

  • For anyone who’s interested in the Capital of Australia, this tour is for you! Our guide Alfie welcomed us on board, as soon as we got on the road Alfie gave us a very informed breakdown of what we would be doing on the tour. He was brilliant from start to finish, he had a great knowledge of the capital & its history. We visited the Capital Exhibition, The parliament, the war memorial & in between we stopped off for a fantastic lunch. If you’re interested in history, politics & Australia at large this tour is for you. Huge credit to Alfie, He made the tour fun, energetic, engaging & was more than happy to accommodate everyone on board. Thanks for a great tour! I will be recommending it to my friends who will be travelling to Australia soon.

  • The most epic day, 10/10 recommend! The dolphin watching was magical, we had a great day for it and saw so many. Definitely bring your bathing suits to go down the waterslide into the boom net afterwards, that was a highlight. The koala sanctuary was so peaceful and so special to see and hear about each of their stories. Sand boarding to end the day was the absolute coolest thing ever! So fun and an awesome adventure all around. Chen was a fantastic guide and a great photographer to take us through it all!

  • Our boat trip to see the whales was an amazing experience that we won’t forget! Everything was well thought through – they gave us jackets on arrival that kept us warm when we ventured out to sea. The journey was sometimes bumpy but we felt safe the whole time. We came across three different pods of whales and cruised alongside them. We even saw a whale breaching! Our guide, Blake, was great at spotting the whales and getting us in prime position. Whilst we waited for the whales to surface, he told us some very interesting information. In total we saw around 6-8 different whales. Highly recommended!

Frequently asked questions about Sydney tours

What are the best Sydney tours for first-time visitors?

For first-time visitors, the best Sydney tours usually combine a harbour experience with one full-day trip outside the city. Popular choices include Blue Mountains day tours, Sydney Harbour cruises, Taronga Zoo, Hunter Valley wine tours and Port Stephens day trips. If you only have two or three days, start with the Blue Mountains and one Sydney Harbour experience.

Which Blue Mountains tour from Sydney should I choose?

Choose a classic full-day Blue Mountains tour if you want the main lookouts, waterfalls and a simple day out from Sydney. Choose an all-inclusive small group option such as Blue Mountains All Inclusive Small Group Tour from Sydney if you prefer a more complete itinerary with fewer separate decisions. If sunset views matter most, compare the sunset-focused options before booking.

Are Sydney day tours suitable for families with kids?

Yes. Harbour cruises, Taronga Zoo packages and Blue Mountains tours with Scenic World or shorter walks are popular family choices. For younger children, prioritise manageable walking, structured meal breaks and an earlier return over long combination itineraries.

What are the best day trips from Sydney besides the Blue Mountains?

Strong alternatives include Hunter Valley wineries, Jervis Bay with dolphin cruise, Port Stephens and Sydney Harbour activities. Choose Hunter Valley for food and wine, Jervis Bay or Port Stephens for coastal scenery and wildlife, and a harbour cruise if you want a shorter, easier day.

Can I visit Hunter Valley from Sydney in one day?

Yes. Hunter Valley is commonly done as a full-day tour from Sydney, with transport arranged so travellers do not need to drive after wine tastings. It is best for adults or older groups interested in cellar doors, local food and a slower-paced day outside the city.

When is the best time to book Sydney tours?

Book fixed-date priorities several days ahead, especially for weekends, school holidays, summer dates and public holidays. Blue Mountains tours, harbour dining cruises and wildlife experiences are the first to fill, while flexible weekday sightseeing often has more last-minute availability.

What should I bring on a Sydney day tour?

Bring comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, a refillable water bottle, a light layer and your booking confirmation. For Blue Mountains or coastal tours, weather can change during the day, so a jacket or rain layer is useful even when Sydney starts warm.
