What to expect

Join a guided kayaking adventure through Adelaide’s Dolphin Sanctuary, perfect for all skill levels—even first-time paddlers. After a safety briefing and equipment demonstration, set off at a relaxed pace through peaceful mangrove creeks formed over 10,000 years.

Paddle through tidal flats, saltmarshes, and seagrass beds—vital feeding grounds for wild dolphins. While dolphin sightings are not guaranteed, the sanctuary is a known hotspot for them, so your chances are high. Along the way, admire the diverse birdlife and unique ecosystem that thrives in this protected area.

You’ll also have the chance to kayak near hauntingly beautiful shipwrecks from a bygone maritime era, making this an experience unlike any other.

Children must be 9 years or older to participate. This tour offers a tranquil yet immersive way to connect with South Australia’s coastal wilderness.

Alex was really knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife and history. He was patient with a couple of people who struggled with their Kayak. He gave a great introduction to kayaking and safety. The weather was great for the time of year and we actually got to see very active dolphins which mae my day and everyone else’s, including Alex. I’d happily go again and would be happy if Alex was our guide. Thoroughly recommended experience.

Had a wonderful morning with our guide Fiona! She was super friendly as well as being informative and so helpful. We got to see 4 dolphins including a baby while we were out, with 2 of them swimming right underneath our kayak. Incredible experience! Super happy.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST TRIP!!!! Such a calming nature loving experience I’m booking again at a later date for my husband and I. Didn’t see dolphins which was fine they’re wild animals but we saw so much wildlife & learned so much about this side of the ocean I didn’t even think about the dolphins. Alex was amazing, very knowledgeable and relatable!! Highly recommend!!

Hannah, our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. We were fortunate to see a pair of dolphins (mother and calf) swim past our group and over to another group. After watching the dolphins feeding around us they moved out to the open water. We then explored the mangrove inlets and learned how these provide a breeding ground for local fish. The three hours was about the right length of time for the tour. We were thrilled to see dolphins.
