Your day begins with a warm welcome and a thorough safety briefing to build confidence and prepare you for the adventure ahead. Guided by experienced instructors, you’ll abseil down waterfalls, slide along natural rock chutes, and jump into crystal-clear pools. The course also includes water caves, scrambling sections, and plenty of chances to splash, climb, and explore.
Designed to suit different comfort levels and abilities, this canyoning experience is ideal for both beginners and thrill-seekers. You’ll learn new adventure skills in a safe and supportive environment, all while surrounded by lush rainforest scenery and cascading waters. Whether you’re chasing adrenaline or simply looking for a unique way to enjoy Tropical North Queensland’s outdoors, Behana Gorge offers the perfect balance of challenge and fun.

Please note that we may use Crystal Cascades on our 6.30am departure, otherwise our 10.00am and 12.00pm departures will be at Behana Waterfalls
It was amazing, one of the best activities we have done in Australia. Our guide Paige was brilliant, encouraging and also had a lot of local knowledge. Would highly recommend this tour.
The time flew by. The guides were very chill but also made us feel very safe. Will be coming back to do the next gorge soon!
Please meet us at your tour start time at the Reef Fleet Terminal, Bus Bay 7.

No. This experience is designed to welcome first-time canyoners as well as adventurous guests. Your guide fits the safety equipment, explains the correct technique and body position, and gives you a full briefing before entering the canyon, with support throughout the course.
On the Behana Gorge course, the jumps, slides and abseils are optional, so you can choose the challenges that suit your confidence on the day. Guides set the pace and show alternative ways through where available. If conditions require the tour to use another canyon, the activity mix and bypass options may differ.
The tour runs at a supportive group pace and works well for many first-timers. You should still be comfortable on your feet for an active few hours of walking, wading, swimming, climbing over uneven rocks and moving through flowing water. A reasonable level of mobility and fitness will help you enjoy every part of the course.
You do not need advanced swimming skills, but basic water confidence is required. A life jacket is provided and guides support you throughout, but you must be comfortable moving through pools and flowing water and able to follow instructions.
Behana Gorge is the planned setting for most departures, with waterfalls, natural slides, jumps and rainforest pools forming the course. The final location is chosen according to water levels and weather, and some early departures may use Crystal Cascades. This keeps the experience matched to the best available conditions, although the exact activities can vary.
A securely mounted hands-free action camera can be used if you bring the correct attachment. Handheld phones and cameras are not practical while moving through water and over rocks. The guides also capture photos and video during the experience, with optional media packages available to purchase.
Contact lenses are the recommended option because the course includes swimming, splashing and fast-moving water. Ordinary prescription glasses can be difficult to keep secure and are carried at your own risk.
Bring a water bottle and a light snack if you would like something during the approximately 5.5-hour experience. A meal is not included.
Amazing day, the guides were so much fun but all felt very safe. Dukes of Hazard meets 127 hours, best day out! 10/10, would definitely do it again
Soo much fun! The guides were fantastic and kept the energy high throughout the day. Would definitely recommend
this was an absolutely awesome experience!!! we have done canyoning before, in New zealand, but this was next level. so much fun, the guides, Vanessa and Luke were so great. Highly recommend!
The trip was fantastic. We had Paige and Dom. They were knowledgeable, funny and very helpful. We loved the jumps and absailing
Very fun and definitely an adventure. Maybe not the best idea at our age (60) but we kept up. Jumping off cliffs, repelling down cliffs, thrown into white water, something to try at least once in your life. Glad we did this but will admit I’m a bit beat up with bruises everywhere including one that’s as big as my hand. Luke and Paige were very patient and made this super fun.
