The remaining 5% will be retained as a non-refundable administration and booking fee. Cancellations made within 5 days of travel will incur a 100% cancellation fee, including no-shows.

It’s a rewarding moderate hike, with around 45–60 minutes of walking each way plus time to enjoy Mars Bluff, Miles Beach and the Arch. The route begins on a broad sandy track and includes a short, steep climb on soft sand, followed later in the day by 279 steps at The Neck. Reasonable fitness, good mobility and closed walking shoes are essential.

The morning is the active part of the tour, with the coastal hike followed by The Neck lookout and a few scenic stops. After a relaxed lunch break at Adventure Bay, the afternoon shifts to Bruny Island’s chocolate, honey, cheese and oyster producers. It’s a good fit if you want one substantial walk paired with an easy-paced tasting trail, rather than a full day of hiking.

Lunch, snacks and drinks aren’t included, so you can bring your own food or buy lunch during the Adventure Bay stop. The itinerary visits local producers, and some locations may offer samples, but anything you order or take home is at your own expense. Bring a large water bottle and a few snacks for the active morning.

The general meeting point is the Tasmanian Travel & Information Centre at 20 Davey Street, with pickup at 6:55am for the 7:00am departure. Pickup and drop-off are also available from selected Hobart hotels when arranged in advance. Be ready five minutes before the pickup time shown in your booking confirmation; the tour returns to Hobart at around 5:00pm.

Yes, it can be a fantastic day for active families with children aged 8 and over. Everyone needs to manage the moderate morning hike, sandy sections and the 279 steps at The Neck, so it best suits children who already enjoy longer outdoor walks. Children under 8 can’t join this tour.
