Discover the charm, history, and natural beauty of Cairns on a relaxed small-group sightseeing tour. Begin at St Monica’s Cathedral, home to the world’s largest themed stained-glass windows, depicting the creation of the Great Barrier Reef. Continue to the Cairns Museum, where a guided tour reveals fascinating stories of tropical life, Indigenous heritage, and the region’s connection to the reef.
Next, wander through the tropical greenery of the Cairns Botanic Gardens, home to exotic plants and vibrant flowers. Enjoy a traditional Devonshire tea in the leafy suburb of Edge Hill, surrounded by lush rainforest vegetation.
Afterward, head to a scenic lookout for sweeping views of the city, the Coral Sea, and the surrounding rainforest-clad mountains. The tour concludes with a relaxing stop at Palm Cove, a picturesque seaside village where you can stroll along the jetty, dip your toes in the sand, and unwind in the laid-back tropical atmosphere.

Yes. It offers a relaxed introduction to Cairns and its tropical surrounds in one afternoon, combining local history, tropical gardens, coastal scenery and Palm Cove. The guide’s commentary also helps you understand the area and decide which places you may want to revisit later in your stay.
This is mainly a coach-based sightseeing tour with short, easy-paced walks at the scheduled stops. The major stops generally use sealed paths, and the longest planned walk is through the Botanic Gardens. You will need to get on and off the vehicle several times during the afternoon.
Most visits are short and focused, commonly around 20 to 40 minutes. This gives you time to enjoy the main highlights, listen to the guide and take photos while keeping the full itinerary within one afternoon. The exact order and time at each stop may change slightly on the day.
Pickup and drop-off are included from selected Cairns City and Palm Cove locations. Choose an available pickup point when booking. The tour departs at around 12.30pm and returns to Cairns at approximately 6pm, with individual pickup times varying by location.
Lunch is not included, so we recommend eating before pickup. A Devonshire afternoon tea is included during the tour, with a freshly baked scone served with jam and cream, plus tea or coffee.
Yes, it can work well for cruise passengers whose ship schedule allows the full afternoon. Pickup begins at around 12.30pm and the tour returns to Cairns at approximately 6pm, so compare these times with your ship’s all-aboard time before booking.
The tour can still be enjoyable in light tropical rain, with comfortable coach travel and several indoor experiences, including the museum, cathedral and afternoon tea stop. Bring a light rain jacket, and the order of the stops or outdoor portions may be adjusted to suit the conditions.
