Walk beneath the Daintree canopy, search the riverbanks for crocodiles and step onto a tropical beach where rainforest reaches the Coral Sea, all in one day from Cairns. With selected hotel transfers, lunch and the long drive north handled, you can focus on the places, wildlife and stories that make this part of Tropical North Queensland so distinctive.
Cairns pickups begin from around 7am before the coach follows Great Barrier Reef Drive between the mountains and the Coral Sea. At Mossman Gorge, join a Welcome to Country and Smoke Ceremony with Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owners, then explore the rainforest around the Mossman River and its giant granite boulders with your guide.
The scenery changes again as you cross the Daintree River by cable ferry and enter the forest north of the river. Walk beneath ancient trees, discover how plants and wildlife have adapted to this environment, and step out onto the Cape Tribulation coast where two World Heritage areas meet.
A wildlife cruise gives you a completely different view of the Daintree from the water. Keep your eyes on the mangroves and riverbanks for saltwater crocodiles, tropical birds and other native animals, with every sighting coming from wildlife moving freely through its natural habitat.
If time allows, the return journey may include a stop for locally made tropical fruit ice cream at your own expense. The tour returns to Cairns in the late afternoon or early evening.

This is a full-day tour covering a large area between Cairns and Cape Tribulation, so the journey is also part of the sightseeing. Travel in an air-conditioned coach while your guide shares stories and local knowledge along the way. It is a convenient choice for travellers who want to experience several major Daintree highlights in one day without self-driving.
Allow for approximately 4 kilometres of walking across the day. The overall fitness level is considered low to moderate, although some locations include uneven rainforest surfaces and stairs. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Yes, there may be an opportunity to swim at Mossman Gorge when conditions are suitable. Bring your swimwear and a towel if you would like to take part, and follow your guide’s instructions on the day. The rainforest walks and views along the Mossman River are also well worth enjoying.
The Daintree River cruise offers a good opportunity to spot saltwater crocodiles, tropical birds and other wildlife along the mangroves and riverbanks. Keep watch for cassowaries and other native animals during the rainforest sections as well. Your guides know what signs to look for and will help point out wildlife along the way, with every day bringing a different mix of sightings.

The tour generally operates in most weather conditions, and rain adds to the atmosphere of the Daintree Rainforest. The order of activities, walking locations or individual stops may be adjusted when weather, road or water conditions require it.
Excellent day. Our guide Cheryl was phenomenal and very knowledgeable. We loved it. The lunch was a bit stale and we could have been informed that we could buy our own lunch if desired. That would have been preferable. But, overall, amazing.
Had an absolutely wonderful experience enhanced by Dan our tour guide whose knowledge & stories were brilliant. I will certainly be recommending this trip based on this.
We absolutely loved our experience. The variety of places we visited, along with the stunning natural beauty of each site, made the trip truly unforgettable. Sheryl, our guide, was exceptional—caring, full of energy, and also an excellent driver. We felt we were in very good hands throughout the journey, and her presence added so much to the overall experience.
