Perfect way to spend a day in Cairns! The timing was spot on — enough hours on each island without feeling rushed. I loved the rainforest walk on Fitzroy in the morning and then being able to snorkel straight off the beach at Green Island. The commentary on the transfer was actually really interesting too. Highly recommend if you want variety in one day.
Great trip overall! The snorkelling gear was decent quality and staff gave us some quick tips which helped. We chose the glass-bottom boat at Fitzroy instead of snorkelling, which was a nice option for my partner who doesn’t swim.
Really enjoyed the variety! Fitzroy’s rainforest walk gave me a chance to stretch my legs before hitting the water at Green Island. Snorkelling straight off the beach made it easy, and the water clarity was better than I expected. Only downside was that the island shops were quite expensive, so I’d suggest bringing water and snacks. But overall, totally worth it.
This was the highlight of our Cairns trip. Boarding was easy, the boat ride smooth, and the staff professional. Green Island had such a nice balance of activities — we split up, some did snorkelling while others just relaxed on the sand. Everyone came back satisfied. I liked that we returned around 5 pm, still in time for dinner in Cairns. Would definitely do again.
