Meet your tour at the Sunlover Cruises counter located inside the Reef Fleet Terminal at Cairns Marina. Check-in Open 8:45am -9:45am, collection of boarding pass required prior heading to the vessel for departure.

• Customer-requested cancellations made at least 6 days prior to travel will receive a refund of 95% of the total booking amount. The remaining 5% will be retained as a non-refundable administration and booking fee. Cancellations made within 5 days of travel will incur a 100% cancellation fee, including no-shows.
• Should supplier be required to cancel or the operation of the tour for any reason, including on the rare occasions due to inclement weather, an alternative date or itinerary will be offered to the passenger. If the alternative date or itinerary cannot be arranged or agreed upon, a full refund will be authorised. If the passenger accepts the alternative date or itinerary, no refunds will be issued.

Choose the basic return-ferry option if you want a simple island day and plan to swim, walk or relax independently. Add one reef activity if you want either snorkelling equipment or a glass-bottom boat tour. The lunch-and-activity option keeps the day easy with a meal and your choice of one reef experience, while the most inclusive option combines return transfers, lunch, snorkelling equipment and the glass-bottom boat tour. The glass-bottom boat is a particularly good choice if you prefer to stay dry.

Yes. Fitzroy Island offers much more than swimming and snorkelling. You can relax around Welcome Bay, walk through the rainforest to Nudey Beach or choose the glass-bottom boat option to see coral and marine life without entering the water. Food, drinks and several optional island activities are also available during your free time.

Yes. Meals, snacks and drinks are available from Foxy’s Bar & Cafe and the General Store. Some booking options include a fresh lunch box, while the basic ferry and activity-only options do not automatically include lunch. Day visitors also have access to public toilets, outdoor rinse-off showers and paid lockers for small personal items. The resort pool and selected resort areas are reserved for overnight guests.

Yes. The approximately 45-minute ferry crossing, flexible island time, beaches and glass-bottom boat option make this a good choice for families. Prams can be taken on the ferry, although many island paths are uneven, sandy or steep, so a baby carrier is usually more practical if you plan to explore the walking tracks. Children need to remain under parent or guardian supervision throughout the day.

The Nudey Beach track is approximately 1.2 kilometres return and usually takes around 45 minutes. It passes through rainforest and open forest, with several steep stone sections along the way. It is a manageable choice for most active visitors and fits comfortably into the island visit. The Summit Track is considerably more demanding and takes around three hours return, so plan your beach and snorkelling time carefully if you want to complete it.

The crossing takes approximately 45 minutes aboard a large, air-conditioned catamaran, making it considerably shorter than many outer reef journeys. Conditions can still vary with the wind and swell. If you are prone to motion sickness, speak with a pharmacist or doctor before travelling and take any recommended medication as directed before departure.
