Expect an active but varied morning, with easy-to-moderate walks chosen to suit the day. The rainforest walk is usually a relaxed 20 minutes, while other trails may need moderate fitness and The Neck lookout has 279 steps. The tour isn’t wheelchair accessible, so it’s best for travellers comfortable getting on and off the minibus and walking on uneven ground.

Lunch, tastings and drinks are not included, so you can choose what suits your appetite and budget. The group usually stops at the Bruny Island Hotel or the nearby general store, and you’re welcome to bring your own lunch. There may also be time to buy local oysters, honey, chocolate and other island produce during the day.

Pickup and drop-off are included from selected locations around Hobart, with the touring day generally running from about 7:30am to 5:30pm. If your accommodation isn’t on the list but you’re staying in the city, the meeting point is usually within a 100–300 metre walk. Private homes and Airbnb addresses aren’t collected directly, so you’ll be given the nearest suitable pickup point after booking.

You’ll enjoy a full mix of Bruny Island scenery, wildlife, short walks and local produce stops, but the exact route changes with the weather, timing and the group. Bruny Island has more highlights than can fit into one day, so the guide selects the best combination without rushing the experience. A stop near Cape Bruny Lighthouse may be included, but a guided lighthouse tower tour isn’t part of this experience.

Yes—your guide knows areas where Bruny Island’s rare white wallabies are often spotted, so there’s a genuine chance to see one in the wild. They’re free-roaming animals, so sightings can’t be promised, but keeping your camera ready during the walks and wildlife stops is worthwhile.
