The cruise mainly explores the sheltered waters of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, and the operator reports a low incidence of seasickness. Sit towards the rear, keep your eyes on the horizon and let the crew know early if you feel unwell; natural ginger tablets are also available on board.

The custom-built boat has a spacious enclosed cabin and leather seating, giving you a comfortable place out of the wind. Bring a warm jacket and dress in layers, as part of the experience is enjoyed outside and Tasmanian conditions can change quickly.

The Hobart office has ramped access, but the vessel requires a 400 mm step to board and has several internal steps, so the cruise is not wheelchair accessible. Guests with limited mobility who can manage the steps can still be assisted by the trained crew.

The cruise is limited to 12 guests and looked after by two local guides. That keeps the day relaxed and personal, with plenty of time to enjoy the seafood, scenery and stories along the way.

There is no minimum age, but this full-day seafood cruise is not recommended for young children. It best suits children who are comfortable spending the day on the water and who will enjoy a seafood-focused menu.
