Allow a full day—around 13 hours. The scheduled departure is about 7:35 am, with an expected return to Melbourne around 8:30 pm; selected inner-city pickup and drop-off are included. It’s a long day, but the scenic drive, lookouts and wildlife stops make the journey part of the experience.

A moderate level of fitness is recommended, as some tracks can be rocky or steep. The tour combines short bushwalks with scenic lookouts, and easier options may be available at some stops if you prefer not to complete every walk. Wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes.

Morning tea and snacks are included, while lunch is at your own expense. You’ll have time in Halls Gap to choose from local cafés and shops, or you’re welcome to bring your own food. Bringing an extra snack for the bus is also a good idea on this full-day adventure.

Yes, this tour is suitable for children aged 6 and over. Children must be supervised by an adult and stay on marked tracks and within designated visitor areas. Infants and children aged 5 and under can’t join because of the walking and nature of the day.

Yes, the tour normally operates in rain and changing weather. Pack a waterproof jacket, layers, sun protection and sturdy walking shoes so you’re comfortable throughout the day. The tour would only be cancelled if extreme conditions make travel unsafe.

Wildlife spotting is one of the highlights, with kangaroos commonly seen around Halls Gap. You may also spot emus, wallabies, echidnas and native birds, although the mix varies because the animals roam freely. Keep your eyes open on the return journey as well as at the main wildlife stops.

Groups are kept to a maximum of 23 guests, travelling in an air-conditioned 24-seat minibus. The smaller group format makes it easier to hear the guide, enjoy the views through large windows and keep the day moving comfortably.
