The crew were really helpful in explaining all of the different activities you could do on the day. The marine biology talks were interesting and the snorkel tour good fun. If you get the chance to do helicopter flight do it, it was a fantastic way to see the Reef.

We had a great time with these guys. There is something for everyone of all ages and abilities. The crew are really friendly and helpful and are reassuring for the nervous among you, to ensure you get the most out of your day. For the 5hrs on the pontoon your time is your own to take part in activities or just relax in the sun. Whilst in the water the fish are very tame and will swim up to you. All in all this activity experience is well worth the time and money

Frequently asked questions

Which activities are included, and which ones cost extra?

Your day already includes all snorkelling gear and instruction, wetsuit and Lycra suit use, semi-submersible and glass-bottom boat tours, the underwater observatory, fish feeding, a marine-biology presentation, morning and afternoon tea, buffet lunch and five hours at the reef. Guided snorkel tours, scuba or helmet diving, scenic helicopter flights, professional photos, bar drinks and souvenirs are optional extras. Optional activities can be arranged onboard, subject to availability.

Is snorkelling suitable for beginners or less confident swimmers?

Yes. You enter the sheltered coral lagoon from a purpose-built platform, with instruction, close crew supervision and personal flotation devices available. The area beside the platform is around 4–5 metres deep, and floating rest stations make it easy to pause when you need to. You can snorkel at your own pace and return to the platform whenever you’re ready.

Can I still enjoy the reef if I don’t swim?

Absolutely. You can stay dry and see the reef from the semi-submersible, glass-bottom boat and underwater observatory, all of which are included. You can also watch the fish-feeding demonstration or relax on the spacious sundeck between activities, so there’s plenty to enjoy without entering the water.

Is five hours at the pontoon too long?

The five hours give you plenty of time to combine several activities without making the day feel rushed. You can snorkel, take the glass-bottom boat and semi-submersible tours, visit the underwater observatory, enjoy lunch and still have time to relax on the sundeck. Scheduled activity times are confirmed onboard, so it’s worth checking the screens when you arrive.

Is the tour suitable for families with young children?

Yes. Families can mix snorkelling with dry reef-viewing activities, and child-sized snorkelling gear, wetsuits, Lycra suits and flotation devices are available. The pontoon also has an infants’ swimming enclosure, while the catamaran and platform are pram-friendly with ramp access, wide aisles and baby-change facilities. Children under 16 must remain under adult supervision throughout the day.

Can dietary requirements be catered for at lunch?

Yes. The hot-and-cold buffet includes vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free dishes, and additional options can be arranged for other dietary needs. After booking, please contact us with any dietary requirements.

What should I do if I’m prone to seasickness?

The catamaran journey takes around 90 minutes each way. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take your usual preventative option around 30 minutes before departure. Ginger tablets and Travel-Calm are normally available onboard, but it’s a good idea to bring the option that already works well for you and follow the label or your pharmacist’s advice.
