Pickup is usually between 9:00 am and 11:00 am, with return to Melbourne around 9:30 pm to 12:15 am, depending on the season and sunset time. Allow about 12–13 hours and check your confirmed pickup details before the day.

Meals aren’t included, but the tour makes stops where you can buy lunch and dinner. You’re also welcome to bring your own food and snacks, and dietary choices are usually available at the meal stops.

The tour is timed to reach the Twelve Apostles around sunset, but the colours and visibility naturally depend on the weather. The tour runs rain or shine, and changing coastal conditions can still create some wonderfully dramatic views.

You’ll stop in an area where wild koalas are known to live, and your guide will help you look for them among the eucalyptus trees. Sightings can’t be guaranteed, but spotting one in its natural habitat is a wonderful bonus.

Pickup and drop-off are included from selected Melbourne CBD hotels and meeting points. Your assigned location may be a short walk from your hotel, so check the confirmed place and time before departure.

The day includes short walks at the wildlife and coastal stops, with plenty of time on the coach between them. Wear comfortable shoes and bring weather-ready layers, sunscreen and a water bottle.

The sunset option starts later and focuses on reaching the Twelve Apostles during golden hour, which can also mean fewer crowds. It includes fewer stops and no Maits Rest rainforest walk, so the standard daytime tour is better if the rainforest walk is especially important to you.
