Allow about 13 hours for the full experience. The central departure from the Immigration Museum is at 7:35 am, with selected inner-city pickups starting earlier, and the expected return to Melbourne is around 8:30 pm. It’s a big day, but the scenic, wildlife and comfort stops help break up the journey.

You’ll normally have around 40 minutes at the Twelve Apostles to follow the boardwalks, enjoy the lookouts and take photos. Exact timing can shift slightly with traffic, weather and operating conditions.

The rainforest walk is suitable for travellers with a low level of fitness. Wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes, and take care on uneven or slippery ground after rain. It’s a lovely chance to slow down among tree ferns and ancient Myrtle Beech.

Morning tea and snacks are included, while lunch is at your own expense. You’ll normally have around 45 minutes in Apollo Bay to choose from local cafés and shops. Bringing a small snack for the coach is also a good idea on this full-day tour.

The tour gives you a good opportunity to spot wild koalas, kangaroos and other native animals along the route. Sightings vary because the animals roam freely, but the guide will make the most of suitable wildlife stops. Keep your eyes open around the eucalyptus forest and morning wildlife stop.

Yes, the tour normally operates in rain and changing coastal weather. Bring a waterproof jacket, layers and comfortable walking shoes so you can enjoy the lookouts and rainforest comfortably. It would only be cancelled if extreme conditions made travel unsafe.

The main meeting point is outside the Immigration Museum at 400 Flinders Street, on the Market Street side, for a 7:35 am departure. Selected inner-city pickups are also available, and your confirmed pickup point may have an earlier time. Please be ready 5–10 minutes before your nominated pickup.
