Afternoon Half-Day Tour: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

• Customer-requested cancellations made at least 6 days prior to travel will receive a refund of 95% of the total booking amount. The remaining 5% will be retained as a non-refundable administration and booking fee. Cancellations made within 5 days of travel will incur a 100% cancellation fee, including no-shows.

You’ll have around 2 hours and 15 minutes on the island. That’s a lovely amount of time for one main reef activity, plus a beach break or a short wander along the rainforest boardwalk. If you add both the glass-bottom boat and semi-submarine, allow about 30 minutes for each and expect a busier visit. A full-day option is the better fit if you want long, unhurried snorkelling time as well as several activities.

It depends on the package you choose. The standard half-day packages include either snorkelling gear or a glass-bottom boat tour for each traveller, while the semi-submarine can be added as an optional extra. A ferry-only fare does not include a reef activity, so check the package name carefully when booking.

Absolutely. Choose the glass-bottom boat to look down over the reef from the surface, or add the semi-submarine for an underwater view through large windows. Both experiences run for about 30 minutes and include commentary, so non-swimmers can still enjoy the coral and marine life while staying dry.

Snorkelling on this half-day trip is self-paced from the beach. You’ll receive a snorkelling and safety briefing on the way to the island, then you can enter from the flagged northern beach, where a lifeguard is on duty. Hire gear includes a flotation vest, making it a friendly option for first-time or less-confident snorkellers.

Yes. The short travel time, sandy beach and dry reef-viewing options make it an easy first island outing for families. Children under four travel free but still need to be included in the booking. Prams can travel on the vessel, and the island’s boardwalks and paths are pram-friendly, although the beach itself is not practical for prams.

Green Island has fresh-water showers, change rooms, restrooms, lockers and shops, so it’s easy to freshen up before the return cruise. Snacks and drinks are available to purchase. The onboard buffet lunch is a full-day option and is not included with the afternoon half-day tour.

The crossing is on a fast, stable catamaran and takes about 45 minutes, although it can still feel bumpy when the sea is lively. If you usually get motion sickness, take your normal preventative before boarding. Complimentary natural ginger tablets are available onboard and work best when taken around 30 minutes before departure.
