Morning Half-Day Tour: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• Customer-requested cancellations made at least 6 days prior to travel will receive a refund of 95% of the total booking amount. The remaining 5% will be retained as a non-refundable administration and booking fee. Cancellations made within 5 days of travel will incur a 100% cancellation fee, including no-shows.
• Should supplier be required to cancel or the operation of the tour for any reason, including on the rare occasions due to inclement weather, an alternative date or itinerary will be offered to the passenger. You’ll have about 2 hours and 15 minutes on the island. For the most relaxed morning, choose one main reef activity, then leave time for the beach or a short rainforest boardwalk. The glass-bottom boat and semi-submarine each take about 30 minutes, so doing both will use a good part of your island time and leave less time for snorkelling or swimming. If you’d like to enjoy several activities at an easy pace, a full-day tour is the better fit.

Depending on the option you select, your tour includes either snorkel gear or a glass-bottom boat tour. The semi-submarine is a separate option and is included only when that option is selected. Check your chosen option before booking so everyone in your group gets the experience they prefer.

Absolutely. The glass-bottom boat gives you a surface view looking down over the reef, while the semi-submarine places the viewing windows below the water for a diver-style perspective. Both run for about 30 minutes with commentary, so they’re easy, comfortable ways to see coral and marine life without getting in the water.

The included snorkelling is self-guided from the beach, so you can explore at your own pace. You’ll receive a safety briefing on the journey to the island, and a lifeguard is on duty in the flagged area at the northern beach. If you choose snorkel hire, your mask, snorkel, fins, flotation vest and lycra suit are included.

Yes. Flotation vests and lycra suits are included with snorkel gear hire. Marine stingers are a normal seasonal consideration in northern Australia, generally from November to May, and the lycra suit also provides useful sun protection. Follow the crew’s advice for the conditions on your travel day.

Yes, this compact half-day format suits families well, including those travelling with small children, infants or babies. Prams can be taken on the vessel, and the island’s boardwalks and pathways are pram-friendly; the sandy beach itself is less practical for wheels. Children under 16 must remain under the supervision of an adult aged 18 or over.

The Reef Rocket is a fast, stable catamaran and the crossing takes about 45 minutes, although it can still feel bumpy in some sea conditions. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take your usual precautions before boarding. Complimentary natural ginger tablets are available onboard and work best when taken about 30 minutes before departure.
