This full-day adventure takes you deep into Tasmania’s scenic south, starting with a relaxing drive through the Huon Valley. After a quick stop in Huonville for coffee, enjoy the views along the river while hearing stories about the region’s orchards, cider makers and salmon farms. At the Tahune Airwalk, you’ll have two hours to explore—whether that’s walking above the forest canopy, crossing the swinging bridges or enjoying a quiet stroll among ancient Huon pines.
After lunch, head further south to the remarkable Hastings Caves. Your guided tour takes you inside Australia’s largest dolomite cave, where impressive formations and geological history create an unforgettable experience. Keep an eye out for local wildlife in the reserve.
On the return to Hobart, finish the day with a cider tasting or a seasonal apple pie at a local producer—a relaxing and delicious way to end the journey.

This tour was great- easy pick up & drop off, comfortable small bus so not a huge group, lots of opportunities to grab meals & drinks. Even though it was a rainy day the Tahune Skywalk and swinging bridges were great fun and felt like an easy way to experience some wilderness- the forest & rivers were spectacular, as was the Hastings Cave. The cave tour was informative, and just the perfect amount of time underground to see all of the dramatic chambers and beautiful formations. Warm apple pie and Cider on the way home were a treat after a day in the rain. Would highly recommend no matter the weather!
Great trip from Hobart – it was a totally awesome day (the weather was great too, just a bit of rain at the start) Our guide (Bison??) was really entertaining and had a lot to tell. Airwalk was awesome, you’ve got plenty of time to explore all the different paths (but you might have to split off from the group to get it all done) The Hastings Cave was also very beautiful (we had an Indian guide on site, who was sometimes hard to understand because of his pronunciation).
Our tour was wonderful! Unfortunately we were unable to visit Hastings Caves due to erosion and a possible tree down but Skye more than made up for it with a wonderful itinerary. Tahune was gorgeous and our entire day did not feel rushed. We were disappointed in not being able to see the caves but we still thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Skye was great. I would recommend it.
Our tour guide, Jodi Alexander, was amazing! She expertly guided us through the pathways, sharing fascinating facts and a little about the history of the surroundings. She was also incredibly enthusiastic throughout the tour!
The highlight of the tour was our visit to the Hastings Caves (the moment everyone was waiting for!), where we were guided by another great professional who was both authorized and experienced. The tour inside the caves was a bit short, but if you’ve never been to one (like me), the experience is truly unique.
The Tahune Airwalk and Huon Tasting were nice, but there’s not much to do in those places. I would recommend take another tour (inclucinding the Hasting Caves), specially because we spent a considerable amount of time on the road.
Overall, I highly recommend everything!
This was a great full day tour. From pickup to drop off, everything was planned out well and had plenty of time in each location. Tahune airwalk and the swinging bridges forest walk were beautiful. The Hastings cave tour was fantastic as was our guide who had a wealth of knowledge and an obvious love for his job. Finishing off the day with a cider tasting paddle and apple pie was a perfect end before heading back to Hobart.
