Saturday departures include a 75-minute stop at Salamanca Market, giving you time to browse the stalls, pick up local food and enjoy the waterfront atmosphere. The Saturday tour runs for around 8 hours, while departures on other days take approximately 6.5 hours.

You’ll usually have around 30 minutes at the summit of kunanyi / Mt Wellington, enough time to enjoy the short boardwalk lookouts or visit the observation shelter. Richmond includes approximately two hours of free time, so you can explore the historic streets, browse the shops and enjoy lunch at your own pace.

Food and drinks aren’t included, but Richmond is a lovely place to stop for lunch, with cafés, local produce and food and wine options around the village. If you travel on a Saturday, Salamanca Market also gives you another opportunity to pick up something tasty from the local stalls.

The day is designed as relaxed sightseeing rather than a walking or hiking tour. At Mt Wellington, you can explore the short boardwalk lookouts or stay inside the observation shelter. Richmond is explored at your own pace, while the Hobart city loop is enjoyed from the vehicle with guided commentary. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate layers are recommended.

The tour travels in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan or mini bus, with a maximum group size of around 20 guests. The smaller-group format makes it easier to hear the guide, ask questions and enjoy a more relaxed journey between the city, mountain and Richmond.
