It was a fantastic trip from beginning to end. During the day, we enjoyed informative wine tastings at three different vineyards, followed by a visit to the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company, which also has its own vineyard, although we didn’t taste the wines there. Definitely worth doing if you have a spare day during your Sydney holiday!
Our day started with a friendly welcome from Gab, our host and driver, when we were picked up from Darling Harbour. Once everyone was onboard, we headed towards the Hunter Valley with a short stop at a service centre along the way. Our first vineyard was Sobels, where Dave gave us an interesting introduction to the wine-making process before the tasting began. There was a great variety of wines, and most of them were very enjoyable. We then visited Four Pines for lunch and another tasting. I especially loved the sparkling rosé! Our final vineyard was Drayton’s, followed by a delicious stop at Hunter Valley Chocolate. On the way back, Gab even stopped to point out some wild kangaroos, which was a lovely surprise. Overall, it was an excellent day regardless of the weather. A big thank you to Gab for being such a wonderful host and driver!

After living in Sydney for 15 years, I finally visited the Hunter Valley wine region, and it was definitely worth the trip. It was a wonderful full day filled with delicious food, beautiful wines, and the unexpected bonus of meeting people from different parts of the world. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxing escape from the city!
Was great ! The wineries visits and degustation fantastic !! We had a great experience !! I would suggest a bit more time in hunter valley gardens to enjoy a bit more the beauty of the garden and a bit more options for lunch ! However I understand the time schedule and overall was great ! Our driver / guide was excellent!! We had a great day !!
