Embark on a full-day adventure from Darwin to Kakadu National Park, a World Heritage Site renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Travel through coastal mangroves, expansive floodplains, and woodland habitats framed by sandstone escarpments.
Begin with a visit to the Warradjan Cultural Centre, where engaging displays reveal the history and traditions of the Bininj people, the traditional custodians of Kakadu. For a unique perspective, you may choose to add an optional 50-minute scenic flight (own expense) over the vast wetlands.
Next, join your guide on a Yellow Water Billabong Cruise, one of Kakadu’s highlights. Look out for saltwater crocodiles basking on the banks and admire the spectacular birdlife, from kingfishers to egrets, that thrive in this vibrant ecosystem.
After lunch, continue across the Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains to Nourlangie Rock. Here, your guide will lead a walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art, some dating back thousands of years, offering deep insight into the cultural heritage of the region. Return to Darwin in the evening after a day immersed in Kakadu’s wildlife, landscapes, and traditions.
All great. I loved the dry humour and conviviality of the guides and staff. The former were also very knowledgeable and well-informed.
We had an enjoyable day, the guide Dennis on the billabong cruise was fantastic and we saw quite a few crocs! Our driver Michael was knowledgeable, especially during the walk in the park to see the rock art. Our lunch was delicious, I was worried about being on a coach but it was really lovely.

The day was long but broken up a lot with breaks. Really enjoyed the commentary by our driver. Lunch was excellent. The billabong cruise was sensational. Highly recommend this trip. Was 13.5hrs from pick up to drop off but I’m not at all sorry we did it.
Anthony, our driver & tour guide, made it an exceptional tour & experience. His commentary was excellent & most educational. Anthony had energy to assist us all throughout our 14 hour day, as well as drive the coach expertly.
The staff were absolutely great all the way through and our driver Kev and assistant Narelle went to great lengths to make our trip enjoyable.
Absolutely brilliant, Mel was an awesome tour guide. The coach was super comfy , lunch was great 👍
A long day, but a good day! I much prefer small group tours/trips to large groups, but for 1 day it was bearable!
