Set out from Ayers Rock Resort and journey through the desert landscape to Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park, pausing for a hearty breakfast at Kings Creek Station. On arrival, prepare for the highlight of the day — a climb to the canyon rim, where dramatic cliffs and sweeping views of the Red Centre unfold before you.

Follow your guide along the rim circuit walk, a rewarding 3-hour hike past lookout points and ancient rock formations. If conditions allow, descend into the Garden of Eden, a sheltered oasis with rare plants and permanent waterholes.

For those seeking a gentler option, an easier trail at the canyon floor offers a closer look at giant boulders and the scale of the cliffs. After exploring, enjoy free time for lunch (own expense) before the relaxing drive back to Ayers Rock Resort.

Mitch and Colin were amazing on this full day tour! The pick up was on time and the coach was fantastic and comfy, reclining seats and a bathroom on board. The breakfast and the station was delicious and just what we needed after an early wake up. The information about the places we were visiting was fantastic and both are very knowledgeable. We decided to do the 3hour hike off the rim and boy was it worth it! Although the feedback from the base walkers was also great, so whichever you choose will be worth it for you! The toughest part of the rim walk was definitely the beginning but after that it was a great time with lots of stops to share information about the area. Lunch options were awesome and the so at Curtin Springs was great! Highly recommend to all!

Michelle, our guide, absolutely made this day fabulous. she provided wonderful insights into the characters who first explored and settled the area. She provided just the right amount of info (sometimes guides are either too quiet or just plain annoying!) I did the rim walk. The first 100 stairs up are the hardest, but from there, the pace and difficulty are achievable for most people. I'm a solo traveler and usually go alone but this was one trip I'm glad I went with Wonder Travel. Brilliant day.

  • Bring a jumper as it can cool down at night during winter months
  • Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged
  • Please bring at least 1 liter of water

Cancellation Policy

  • Customer-requested cancellations made at least 8 days prior to travel will receive a refund of 95% of the total booking amount. The remaining 5% will be retained as a non-refundable administration and booking fee. Cancellations made within 7 days of travel will incur a 100% cancellation fee, including no-shows.
  • Should supplier be required to cancel or the operation of the tour for any reason, including on the rare occasions due to inclement weather, an alternative date or itinerary will be offered to the passenger. If the alternative date or itinerary cannot be arranged or agreed upon, a full refund will be authorised. If the passenger accepts the alternative date or itinerary, no refunds will be issued.
