What to expect

Escape to Moreton Island for a full-day adventure at Tangalooma Island Resort, combining thrills, relaxation, and wildlife encounters. Begin your day at the Brisbane wharf, where you’ll check in at the Ticket Hut before boarding a 75-minute scenic boat ride across Moreton Bay. Keep an eye out for dolphins along the way, and enjoy a complimentary beverage either during the outbound or return journey.

Upon arrival, enjoy full use of the resort’s facilities, including swimming pools, cafés, restaurants, bars, and its sandy beach. Your tour includes a lunch voucher to enjoy a meal of your choice before heading out on the exciting Desert Safari Tour. Travel by 4WD bus through bushland to the Tangalooma Desert, where the bumpy ride is part of the adventure. Once there, you can choose to try sand tobogganing down towering dunes at speeds of up to 40 km/h, suitable for both beginners and thrill-seekers.

Back at the resort, relax with a swim, explore the beach, or visit the Eco-Centre for the Discover the World of Dolphins presentation. As the sun sets, head to the jetty for the highlight of the evening: the wild dolphin feeding program. Watch as a pod of dolphins comes to the shore to be fed. While guests observe from the jetty, eco rangers ensure the dolphins are cared for and protected in this unforgettable display.

After your action-packed day, board the evening ferry back to Brisbane, departing between 7:00–8:00 PM depending on the season. Following a 75-minute cruise, you’ll arrive back at Brisbane wharf at approximately 8:15–9:15 PM.

Our day on Moreton Island was great, in spite of a cloudy day & thunderstorm late afternoon. The trip was still amazing as we went on the sand tobogganing and then watched the wild dolphin feeding. This should be on everyone’s Brisbane To-Do List!

The desert safari was pretty cool. Not something I’d do again, but it was nice to experience once. For kids, though, it’s a really great experience! The dolphins were so cute! Overall, everything worked great, it was very well organized, and the resort has a lot to offer. It’s the perfect place to spend a day.
