What to expect

Begin your adventure at Holt Street Wharf, where staff will confirm the day’s timings before you board a 75-minute scenic ferry across Moreton Bay. Enjoy a complimentary drink on either the outbound or return journey as you travel to Moreton Island.

On arrival at Tangalooma Island Resort, take time to explore and enjoy full access to all facilities, including swimming pools, cafés, restaurants, bars, and the sandy beach. Then board the Marine Discovery Cruise, a purpose-built vessel offering unobstructed views of Moreton Bay’s marine life. With expert commentary, look out for dolphins, dugongs, green sea turtles, rays, and more as you journey along the coastline.

At 3:15 PM, you may attend the optional Discover the World of Dolphins presentation at the Eco Centre, or continue enjoying the island at your leisure until sunset. As evening approaches, gather at the jetty for the highlight of the day — the wild dolphin feeding program. Watch a pod of dolphins swim to the shallows, then step into the water with the guidance of Eco Rangers to hand-feed fish to a wild bottlenose dolphin.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience is carefully managed by the Dolphin Care Team, consisting of Eco Rangers and trained staff, ensuring the dolphins’ welfare at all times. At approximately 7:00 PM, depart the island by ferry and return to Brisbane at around 8:15 PM.

An amazing experience. Very well organised! Seeing the fish and turtles on the marine discovery was great and the dolphin feeding was just the best. We had a great time so I’d highly recommend

This is my third time, but no matter how many times I interact with the dolphins, it’s still an impressive experience. You can’t touch them, but being able to go into the ocean and feed them directly is a very valuable experience. We made good use of the lounge. We took a nap and drank coffee to relax. Our goal was to see the dolphins.

Highly recommended, where you can enjoy the boat trip to Moreton Island and the stay with all kinds of activities. We were welcomed at Tangalooma by JJ who showed us around and gave us instructions and tips. The day lounge which was available to us was very nice. There was free coffee and tea for us, a lounge area with toilets and showers with towels. A real plus to book it this way. We ended the day with a delicious cocktail watching the sunset, after which we were allowed to feed the dolphins. The latter is quite massive all of a sudden. Many people who had not been visible to us during the day. On our day there was also a huge group of school children. Of course it is understandable that everyone here wants to take the opportunity to see the dolphins up close. But it was very busy.

The organization was perfect, it couldn’t have been done better! Everything was great, but unfortunately we only saw one turtle on the Discovery Cruise.
