Your adventure begins with check-in at the Brisbane wharf, where staff will confirm the day’s timings. Board a scenic 75-minute boat ride across Moreton Bay, with a complimentary beverage included either on the way there or on your return journey.
Upon arrival, join the Desert Safari Tour, a thrilling 4WD adventure through the rugged terrain of Moreton Island. This fun and bumpy ride takes you to the Tangalooma Desert, offering a look at the wild beauty of the world’s third-largest sand island. Here, you can try the exhilarating activity of sand tobogganing — sliding down massive dunes at speeds of up to 40 km/h. Whether you’re a beginner or a thrill-seeker, you can choose a pace that suits you.
Throughout the day, enjoy full access to Tangalooma Island Resort facilities including swimming pools, restaurants, bars, and sandy beaches. Relax, swim, or explore the island before heading back to the wharf at 4:00 PM. After a 75-minute cruise, you’ll arrive back in Brisbane at approximately 5:15 PM.
Great Trip! Getting to the ferry was a bit complicated without a car, so we had to take a taxi. The Transfer itself was pleasant though, we were a bit delayed because we saw a humpback whale on our way to the island, but they waited for us. Paul, our 4WD Busdriver was competent and also very funny and knowledgeable! The Sandboarding was really fun, and afterwards you get to use the resort facilities like the swimming pools and showers as well. We had a great time!
Excellent, a must try activity for anyone around Brisbane

Very beautiful island–would deserve at least a night on site and not just a day visit
Awesome , Wade did a wonderful job ! The professional photographer did excellent job also ! Regrettably I don’t remember her name !
Very good value for money! Especially with lunch included. I was worried that it would be rushed but was able to do and see everything. We added on the wreck snorkel but you can swim out to it (most ideally probably with a floatie and fins, bring your own if you can). Soooo nice!
Bit rushed but really good day trip !
The guide was great, the descent is impressive and the landscapes magnificent 🙂
