Start your day with a relaxed city loop through Hobart, where your guide shares local stories as you pass the city’s key sights. The first major stop is kunanyi/Mt Wellington. At 1272 metres, the summit offers sweeping views over Hobart, the River Derwent and the rugged coastline—perfect for photos and a breath of Tasmania’s famously clean air.
On Saturdays, you’ll enjoy time at Salamanca Market, a lively mix of local art, produce and crafts. The tour then continues into the Coal River Valley for a quick cheese tasting at Wicked Cheese, followed by a visit to historic Richmond. Here you can explore sandstone buildings, boutique shops and the country’s oldest bridge.
The day ends at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where friendly kangaroos, curious wombats and the Tasmanian Devil make this a memorable wildlife encounter before returning to Hobart.

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary was amazing – up close and personal with so many wallabies! Seeing the Tasmanian devil “in person” was great as well. We had plenty of time to interact with the animals. Other stops were the delightful town of Richmond, where we stopped for lunch, and then a visit to the lookout tower for fabulous views of the area. Our guide was relaxed, knowledgeable and fun.
The view from the top of Mount Wellington was good. I enjoyed seeing and feeding kangaroos and seeing other local animals like Tasmanian devils at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Andrew, the driver/guide, was very good at his job. He was friendly, knowledgeable and informative.
Enjoyed the information that Mark and Christy provided over a wide range of topics. Saw lots of Tazmania that others wouldn’t see. Fun experience!
I was glad that I got to see the Tasmanian devils and interact with kangaroos, and that I had plenty of time to spend at each place, including Richmond.
