Get ready for a full day of coastal beauty, outdoor adventure, and unforgettable views in the stunning Port Stephens region — known as New South Wales’ blue-water paradise. Depart from Sydney Central in the morning and enjoy a scenic drive north, with a quick coffee or breakfast stop along the way (own cost).
Your first stop is Anna Bay, home to the largest moving sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere. Hold on tight for an exhilarating 4WD sand safari across the golden dunes, followed by the adrenaline rush of sandboarding down the slopes. Prefer to relax? You can take in the desert-like landscape and snap amazing photos instead.
Next, head to Nelson Bay, where you’ll have free time for lunch — from classic fish and chips to cozy seaside cafés. In the afternoon, join a guided hike up Mount Tomaree, a 25–30 minute walk each way. From the summit, marvel at sweeping coastal views, rugged cliffs, and maybe even dolphins in the distance.
Return to Sydney around 6:30 PM, with sun, sand, and plenty of great memories.
Excursion, more than great! The guide was incredible, very kind, funny, and always with a smile! The activities were perfect, and our guide took photos of us everywhere, so we’d have lots of memories! A great, great time, and if I had to do it again, I’d do Nelson Bay the same way!
I had a fantastic day, I was happy with everything.

We had a very enjoyable day, pick up was prompt, drive was comfortable and driver and tour guide James was second to none. He was professional, attentive and a pleasure to be around and a real credit to the company. He deserves a special mention as he was superb. We did the quad biking which was fantastic but were not told this had to be pre booked so this is a must. Port Stephens walk, led by james was spectacular.
It was great! Will definitely travel with them in future
Our guide Aurelio was amazing and helpful! He made the experience a lot of fun and provided a lot of tips and insight! He was so fun and took lots of pictures and made sure everyone was happy! It was a great experience!
A good day out, I purchased the extra cost of snow boarding. I walked up tomaree mountain, a simple walk with proper paths and steps. A good way to get out of the city.
