What to expect

Discover Rottnest Island at your own pace with a full-day adventure that combines fast ferry transfers from Fremantle and bike hire. After a scenic 25-minute crossing of the Indian Ocean, disembark at the Rottnest jetty and collect your bike for the day.

With 11 km by 4 km of stunning terrain to explore, cycling is the best way to experience the island’s beauty. Ride past secluded bays, sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters as you soak in the fresh ocean air.

In the morning, explore the southern bays, which are naturally sheltered from the easterly winds. Later in the day, make your way to popular spots such as The Basin, Parakeet Bay, and Little Armstrong Bay on the island’s southwest. Each stop offers incredible photo opportunities and the chance to simply relax and enjoy the coastal views.

When your adventure is complete, return your bike at the jetty and board the ferry back to Fremantle, finishing a perfect day of outdoor exploration.

Rottnest is a beautiful island with lots to see and do. Bike hire is great to get around. I’m not very fit but managed to get around ok, some of the hills were very steep but you just stop and take in the scenery. The quokkas were very cute. Had a nice lunch at one of the hotels. Some of the beaches were very busy- salmon bay was the nicest. I think $120 is a lot of money for a 30 min ferry ride however the island was beautiful and must be done while in Perth.

the trip was lovely, having the bikes to cycle around the island but it’s easy to collect and return. p.s they don’t tell you there are plenty on hills 🙈

As this was my first visit to Rottnest Island I wasn’t too sure what to expect but wow!!! What an amazing place!! Soo beautiful. The tour was so well organised and efficient! The island itself has an amazing mix of culture and stunning coastline! Everywhere I looked was absolutely incredible and I will be telling all my friends it’s something you have to see! Next time I return I will be staying in the island as one day was not enough to see it all!

Ticket collection and the boat ride was simple and fast. We collected the bikes on arrival on the island and they were pretty good, a lot better than expected. I liked that they we were belt-drive. That way the dry and sandy air wouldn’t wear the drive down so fast. The island is beatiful and there were Quokkas everywhere, were there were trees next to the cycle-way.
