Set out on a full-day adventure to Rottnest Island with roundtrip ferry transfers from Perth’s Barrack Street Jetty and bike hire included. Begin your journey with a scenic Swan River cruise, passing city landmarks with live commentary, before heading across the Indian Ocean to Rottnest Island.
Once on the island, collect your bike from the jetty and explore at your own pace. Rottnest is 11 km long by 4 km wide, making it the perfect size to discover by bicycle. Ride to secluded bays and white-sand beaches, stopping to swim, relax, or simply enjoy the views.
In the morning, cycle south to sheltered bays protected from the easterly winds. In the afternoon, continue to The Basin, Parakeet Bay, and Little Armstrong Bay in the southwest — all ideal for swimming, photography, and soaking up the island’s charm.
At the end of the day, return your bike at the jetty and board the ferry back to Perth, completing your island escape with another relaxing cruise.
We loved this day trip! Honestly wasn’t expecting much initially but it turned into such a great adventure day!! We rented bikes and loved riding around the island, even if it was WAY harder than expected. So please keep that in mind if you’re not a big bike rider. We got tons of cute quokka content too!! The restaurant Frankie’s was amazing!!
Beautiful day on an amazing island, a bucket list experience ticked off

The island is a fantastic option for any activity. Beautiful waters, various food and drink options available. Historical information is everywhere. More on offer to see the island such as hop on hop off bus or bicycle or walking or private tours. Tip: take with you fly repellent or a net covering for your head.
The ferry takes 1,5h one way, sometimes the sea ist stormy, maybe you become seasick. But it was a great day with a lot of adventures! The island is very beautiful and the quokkas really cute.
Great experience to see the Quokkas and enjoyed the ride around the island, even with the built in workout navigating the hills 😂
Picked up at 8.45. Tickets from the jetty. Easy process. Bike pickup was straight from the boat so could quickly get on our way. Was able to see all of the island before pickup at 4 (30km bike ride). Lots of quokkas near the ferry terminal.
Everything worked out perfectly! The jetty is very easy to get to from Perth and the ferry was on time both ways. The journey via Swan river to Rottnest island was actually quite interesting and pleasant with commentary from the crew. The bikes were nice and were given on Rottnest island after disembarking. All perfect!
