This package includes same-day return ferry transfers from Fremantle and bike hire, giving you the freedom to explore over 63 beaches and 20 bays on this Class A Reserve. With no private vehicles on the island, cycling is the most popular and environmentally friendly way to get around.
Before boarding the ferry, collect your boarding passes and bike wristband from the reservations office. Once you arrive on Rottnest, your bike will be ready to collect from the ferry crew. Each hire includes a helmet and lock for your convenience. Adults (18+) must accompany any riders under 18 when collecting bikes. For families, Pedal & Flipper offers children’s bikes, baby seats, trailers, and e-bikes (available separately).
Cycling the full 22 km loop around the island takes around 3–5 hours, but shorter scenic routes are also available if you prefer a more relaxed pace. At the end of the day, simply return your bike to the crew and reboard the ferry to Fremantle, completing an active and memorable day on Rottnest Island.
This was a fun day. Getting around the island on a bicycle was a great was to see everything and stop whenever you felt like it. The ferry crew was excellent at their job. Super aware and helpful to people who got seasick. Excellent communication with the company about changed due to weather. I would highly recommend.
We booked the ferry and bike hire package. Bikes were good quality and comfortable to ride. We cycled to the lighthouse then picked up the full island route to West End and back along the coast. A few challenging hills and then a punishing head wind for the ride back! Great way to see all of the island but look at an e-bike if you’re not fit or a reasonably competent bike rider.

It was good everything was clear the only thing that would be lovely is a basket on the bikes.
