Journey south of Hobart through the scenic Huon Valley to discover two of Tasmania’s most unique attractions — Tahune Airwalk and Hastings Caves. Begin with a gentle forest walk leading to the famous Airwalk, a 619m steel walkway that ends at a cantilever platform 50m above the Huon River. For thrill-seekers, continue on swinging bridges that span across the river, or take the tranquil Huon Pine Walk to see 2,500-year-old trees.
In the afternoon, visit Hastings Caves Reserve. Enjoy a dip in the 28°C thermal springs pool or wander along the Hot Springs Nature Trail, where warm and cool waters meet. Then, join an expert guide on a 45-minute cave tour to explore vast chambers, intricate formations, and fascinating geology. On the way back to Hobart, seasonal stops may include roadside stalls with cherries, apples, berries, or honey tastings — the perfect finish to a day of adventure and relaxation.
We return to Hobart city around 5.30-6.00pm.
This was the best experience ever! Ian, our guide, was so knowledgable and passionate about Tassie and made the day so enjoyable. The Airwalk was so beautiful and the Hasting Caves was incredible! I loved every second of the day and would (and will!) recommend this activity to anyone going to Tassie! I can’t speak highly enough about how excellent and smooth the transport, activities and trip was!
Enjoyed this trip I thought it was brilliant. Peter the driver and the cave guide gave us good information on the tour. Would recommend this day out to anyone.

It was so helpful for who couldn’t drive a car to explore. All the places in this tour were stunning.
I had an amazing time on this tour. Nick, my guide, was extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. Both the air walk and the caves are truly spectacular, I highly recommend.
Be prepared for a long day with lots of walking and steps. Our guide was full of information about the rain forest and each of the areas we were in. You could see that he really enjoyed sharing this information. I left the tour feeling I knew so much more about Tassie!
What an amazing activity with a wonderful guide, very blessed to reconnect with nature, the beauty and spirit of Tassie
