What to expect

Swap the Airlie Beach waterfront for locally grown coffee, rainforest rockpools and a classic 1950s diner—all in one easy four-hour trip, with no driving or route planning required. Settle into an air-conditioned sightseeing bus as your local guide brings the Whitsunday mainland to life with stories about its history, wildlife and laid-back communities.

Your first stop is Whitsunday Gold Coffee Plantation, where rows of coffee plants grow in the tropical Queensland climate. Discover how locally grown beans make their way from crop to cup, breathe in the aroma of freshly prepared coffee and enjoy time to look around the plantation before continuing into the hinterland.

At Cedar Creek Falls, step beneath the rainforest canopy and into a peaceful landscape of rocky pools, tropical greenery and freshwater. When water levels and conditions are suitable, change into your swimmers and cool off in the natural rockpool. You can also stay dry, explore the area and find a quiet spot to enjoy the scenery and take photos. Water flow at the falls varies with recent rainfall and the time of year.

Finish near Conway Beach at the colourful George’s Diner, where classic cars, neon colours and 1950s décor create a fun change of scene. Choose something from the menu for lunch or bring a packed lunch with you, then enjoy time to relax before settling back into the bus for the return to Airlie Beach.

The tour guide Jenni was amazing. Company communication could use some improvement. Was unable to get a hold of anyone on the number stated on the website. But that said everything else was great. Loved the tour, the tour guide and the group atmosphere

Frequently asked questions

Is lunch included in the tour?

No. You can choose and purchase lunch from the menu at George’s Diner or bring a packed lunch with you. We also recommend bringing money for drinks, additional food and anything you would like to purchase during the tour.

Does Cedar Creek Falls always have flowing water?

The waterfall and rockpool conditions depend on recent rainfall and the time of year. Cedar Creek Falls can still be a beautiful rainforest stop when the waterfall is quieter, but the amount of flowing water cannot be guaranteed.

Can I swim at Cedar Creek Falls?

Swimming may be possible when water levels and local conditions are suitable, but it is always optional. Bring swimwear and a towel if you would like to enter the water, and follow the guide’s advice when you arrive.

Where will I be picked up?

Pickup is available from selected Airlie Beach and Cannonvale locations, including nominated accommodation and port pickup points. Your exact pickup location and time will be provided in your booking confirmation. We recommend waiting outside the confirmed location at least 10 minutes early.

Is the tour suitable for cruise-ship passengers?

Yes. The sightseeing bus regularly carries cruise passengers and port pickup may be available. Enter your ship details when booking and carefully check the confirmed pickup and return arrangements, as cruise ships can use different ports and tender schedules.

Does every tour follow exactly the same itinerary?

The tour normally focuses on Whitsunday Gold Coffee Plantation, Cedar Creek Falls and the Conway Beach area. The order of the stops may change according to weather, local conditions, cruise schedules and operational requirements.

Is the tour suitable for families?

Yes. The comfortable bus, varied sightseeing stops and relaxed pace make this a good choice for families who want to explore beyond central Airlie Beach without spending the day on a boat. Children must remain under parent or guardian supervision, particularly around the natural rockpool and uneven areas at Cedar Creek Falls.

How much walking is involved?

Most of the journey is completed by bus, with short walks at the sightseeing stops. The ground around Cedar Creek Falls is natural and may be rocky or uneven. The tour is not wheelchair accessible and is best suited to travellers who can manage short walks over natural ground.

Pick up point confusing but fortunately Jenni came and found us at the port. She was bright and bubbly, very informative and gave us a wonderful day. Lunch and coffee were both good and although we didn’t swim the falls were lovely. Returned us safely to the cruise terminal to catch the tender
