Day 1:
Your adventure begins with an afternoon departure from Yulara (or Ayers Rock Airport), Please ensure you have lunch beforehand, as we will head straight out on tour after you’ve been collected.
The next stop is the Aboriginal Cultural Centre, where you’ll gain valuable insight into the rich history, stories, and cultural significance of the land you are about to explore. Afterward, prepare for an awe-inspiring experience as we take a guided walk around the base of Uluru, one of the most famous natural landmarks in the world. As you take in the breathtaking views, your guide will share the fascinating history behind ancient rock art, sacred waterholes such as Mutitjulu, and the Aboriginal stories of Kuniya the python and Liru the venomous snake.
The walk continues to Kantju Gorge, home to Central Australia’s tallest waterfall (seasonal, depending on rainfall), and sacred caves once used as a natural pantry by the local Aboriginal people. Following this, you’ll witness a stunning sunset over Uluru, with plenty of time to capture the moment and create lasting memories. As the day draws to a close, enjoy a relaxing dinner at the campsite under the expansive Outback sky before settling in for the night.
Day 2:
Sunrise seekers, rise and shine! A pre-dawn wake-up call will be rewarded with an unforgettable experience as we begin the day before dawn to witness the stunning sunrise at Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. After soaking in the first light over Uluru, we’ll continue our journey to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), a striking collection of dome-shaped rock formations that evoke a sense of otherworldliness. You’ll embark on either the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge walk, both offering spectacular views and ample opportunities for awe-inspiring moments.
Following our time at Kata Tjuta, we stop at camp for a bite to eat before making our way to the Kings Canyon region, arriving in time to enjoy another breathtaking outback sunset. The day will conclude with a traditional campfire dinner, offering a truly authentic Australian outback experience.
Day 3:
Following an early start, we depart for Kings Canyon. Prepare to be amazed by the dramatic 100-meter cliffs and striking sandstone formations that define this iconic landscape. The Rim Walk, renowned as the highlight of Watarrka National Park, offers panoramic views that are truly breathtaking. Your guide will provide fascinating insights into the canyon’s ancient geological history, its unique flora and fauna, and other notable features of this remarkable location.
On the return journey to Alice Springs, we will travel through the rugged Australian outback, either along the main highway or, conditions permitting, via the scenic Mereenie Loop or Ernest Giles Road. We expect to arrive back in Alice Springs between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm, where you will be dropped off, enriched with new experiences, lasting memories, and the stories of the outback to share with others.
NOTE: This tour only concludes in Alice Springs. In the event that incorrect flights have been purchased, the tour operator is not responsible for reimbursing any flight change fees incurred or required to change the tour itinerary to accommodate as this will impact other passengers onboard.
CAMPING OPTIONS:
A) SWAGS: For the more adventurous traveller, we have the traditional outback camping experience. Guests will enjoy sleeping under the stars in a canvas-covered bedroll, known as a “Australian Bush Swag”; OR
B) TENTS: If you’re after a little more comfort protected from the elements, you can book our “Twin Share Safari Tent” style. It includes permanent tents, twin single beds, mattresses, pillows, and bed linen supplied.
Please note that “Safari Tent” options must be booked for a minimum of 2 people, in multiples of 2.
We had the best experience during this trip, everything was well organised and we got plenty of food as well. Our guide Tristan was one of the best guides we ever had. He made sure that everyone had a good time and he created a great group atmosphere with his boundless enthusiasm. We really enjoyed this tour, would totally recommend it!
Without a doubt an unforgettable experience. The guides, Tristan and Sherana, played a big part in this. They led the hikes with so much enthusiasm and conveyed their extensive knowledge in a very interesting and clear way. The tour was well organized from start to finish and through good time management Tristan showed us a few extra places and opportunities to get to know the national parks even better. In summary, a tour that you definitely won’t regret and in my opinion an essential stop for anyone who wants to explore Australia’s nature.
The hikes were breathtaking, and the nights at the campsites were a lot of fun
Everything about this tour was excellent! Adam was an amazing tour guide with a lot of knowledge around the aboriginal community. The camps are lovely and you’ll meet some great people from all around the world. Would definitely recommend!!!
What an absolutely incredible experience! The flow and format, the swag, the hot desert sun and the feeling of camaraderie. Jim was amazing and really made us feel safe, welcome and unified as we went from one beyond-words experience to the next. We had the best Tour guide ever, he knew a lot about the land and the culture, he was funny and relaxed. Every Placebo we saw was just like heaven. it was so beautiful. Just bare in mind that the swaga are literally just sleeping Bass, so any animal can crawl in with you.
We had such a great time. Alle the experiences were magical. We hiked in the Kings Canyon and Kata Tjuta, got to see Uluru at sunrise and sunset. The group was so lovely and we even made some friends. Our tour guide Alex von Autopia was so sweet and amazing. We had the time of our lives!
