What to expect

Begin your adventure before dawn with a light breakfast and a hot drink as the sun slowly rises over the Red Centre. Travel to Kuniya Piti, a sacred starting point, and hear ancient Tjukurpa creation stories shared by your guide.

Set out on a guided base walk around Uluru, following in the footsteps of Aboriginal ancestors. Explore the Mala Walk, where sacred sites reveal their cultural importance, and marvel at the towering cliffs of Kantju Gorge with its dramatic desert waterfall formation.

Continue along the Lungkata Walk to learn the legend of the Blue Tongue Lizard and see fascinating Aboriginal rock art that tells centuries-old stories. Your journey concludes back at Kuniya Piti, where you’ll be awarded a certificate celebrating your achievement of completing the full Uluru base walk.

Important Information

Know before you go

  • Please pre-purchase the Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park entry online or at the Voyages Resort Visitor Centre. It is valid for 3 consecutive days.
  • This activity requires a moderate level of fitness. It includes a long but gentle walk on flat ground
  • Bring a minimum of 1.5 liters of water for the walk
  • Comfortable walking shoes are required
  • This tour is not wheelchair accessible
  • The departure and return times vary throughout the year due to different sunrise times. This tour departs 1 hour prior to sunrise
 

What To Bring

  • Bring a jumper as it can cool down at night during winter months
  • Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged
  • Please bring at least 1 liter of water

Cancellation Policy

  • Customer-requested cancellations made at least 8 days prior to travel will receive a refund of 95% of the total booking amount. The remaining 5% will be retained as a non-refundable administration and booking fee. Cancellations made within 7 days of travel will incur a 100% cancellation fee, including no-shows.
  • Should supplier be required to cancel or the operation of the tour for any reason, including on the rare occasions due to inclement weather, an alternative date or itinerary will be offered to the passenger. If the alternative date or itinerary cannot be arranged or agreed upon, a full refund will be authorised. If the passenger accepts the alternative date or itinerary, no refunds will be issued.
