Begin your evening with a drive into Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and settle at the Sunset Viewing platform. Enjoy a glass of Australian wine and a cheese board while watching Uluru transform through shades of red, orange, and purple as the sun dips below the horizon.
After sunset, travel to a private dining site set beneath the desert night sky. Relax at white-clothed tables and savour a gourmet barbecue featuring steak, kangaroo, lamb sausages, chicken skewers, fresh salads, and dessert, all paired with wine, beer, or soft drinks.
As night falls, your guide will lead a stargazing session, using a high-beam spotlight to highlight constellations while sharing Aboriginal stories that connect the stars to culture and legend. The evening ends with tea, coffee, and dessert before returning to Ayers Rock Resort.
Such an amazing experience watching the Uluru change colour during the sunset! The bbq dinner was great too, had a delicious steak accompanied by other veg and salad etc. the only thing that could’ve been better was the communication between the bus driver and the tour operator. We weren’t told about the cheese board and wine until we had 10-15 minutes left of the sunset viewing which was annoying but overall a fun tour. Jessie was an amazing tour guide when we eventually found out who our guide was.
pick up and drop off was easy, watching the sun going down was lovely, plenty of snacks available. then transferred to the bbq site which is stunning, food was cooked to perfection and just a stunning evening with a lovely star gazing ending.

Such an incredible experience. Sunset was so beautiful and having the opportunity to enjoy a bbq under the stars was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Excellent. Just the very idea of a having a BBQ deep in the desert where there is no noise bar the other guests and the sky is so bright and clear, you can see hundreds of stars is amazing. With the knowledge from the guide outlining what star is what and where, I would definitely recommend to anyone seeking something special for their holiday
A wonderful night, the bbq was excellent. Shame about the weather it was cloudy so no sunset and couldn’t see the stars but not to worry. I can Imagine on a clear night it would be spectacular
The BBQ was good, but the stars after dinner….and the astronomy explanation of those stars, was exceptional.
