Leave the buzz of Airlie Beach behind and spend two golden hours on the Whitsunday water aboard a character-filled timber tall ship. With a glass of bubbles in hand, a grazing platter to share and the evening light settling over the bay, this is an effortless way to turn sunset into one of the most memorable moments of your stay.
As the schooner moves away from Coral Sea Marina, stretch out on the cushioned deck and watch Airlie Beach fade into the background. The pace is relaxed, the views are wide open and there is nowhere you need to rush to—just fresh sea air, changing colours and the unmistakable atmosphere of sailing on a traditional wooden vessel.
Want to get involved? Join the crew when they invite guests to help hoist the sails. Prefer to unwind? Find your favourite spot on deck and let the boat, breeze and scenery do the work. A welcome glass of bubbles is served after boarding, followed by a shared platter of crusty bread, cheese, dips and seasonal fruit, with additional drinks available from the licensed bar.
With a maximum of 24 guests, the evening feels sociable without losing its laid-back charm. It is a beautiful choice for couples, friends, solo travellers or anyone looking for an easy Whitsundays experience before dinner. Around two hours later, return to Airlie Beach with the night still ahead—and a completely different view of the coastline behind you.
Absolutely stunning scenery and a lovely historic sailing boat. Our guide was amazing and told us all the history of the boat and Airlie beach! Would highly recommend 😍
Excellent experience! Jack and Alex were terrific and the ride was amazing! No actual sunset because of the rain and cloud cover, but so worth it!

The crew will use the sails whenever the wind and weather make it suitable. The engine may also be used when needed to position or move the vessel safely, so the amount of time spent under sail can vary between departures.
No sailing experience is required, and taking part is completely optional. You can join the crew when guests are invited to help hoist a sail, or simply relax on deck and enjoy the views.
Cloud cover and weather conditions create a different sunset experience each evening. Even when the colours are softer, guests can still enjoy the traditional tall ship, the evening scenery and two relaxed hours on the bay. The tour operates when conditions are considered safe.
No. The included food is a light shared grazing platter featuring crusty bread, cheese, dips and seasonal fruit. It is designed as sunset nibbles rather than a full evening meal, so you may wish to arrange dinner separately before or after the sail.
Meet at Meeting Point B near the Kiosk Cafe at the roundabout in Coral Sea Marina North. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure to allow enough time for check-in and boarding. Hotel transfers are not included.
No. This is a two-hour sunset sailing experience across the bay, with no swimming, snorkelling or island stop. The focus is on the tall ship, evening scenery, refreshments and time on the water.
Wear comfortable clothing and bring a warm layer, particularly during winter or after sunset. This is a barefoot sailing experience, so shoes are collected when you board and returned when you disembark. Clothing suitable for an open-air boat trip is recommended.
It was great. Really lovely evening out on the boat for sunset. Really interesting and informative crew
Beautiful ship, friendly crew, good food and beverages. Only negative feedback was a passenger vaping at front of ship trying to hide from crew
Beautiful scenery. Snacks were great and the boat was lovely. Would highly recommend
Great little adventure on a nice old boat, with sparkling, cheese platter and a beautiful sunset.
